Snowfall Warning for South Western Alberta

Environment Canada have issued a Snowfall Warning for Kananaskis, Canmore, Crowsnest Pass, Pincher Creek and Waterton National Park. Snowfall is expected to fall through this afternoon through tomorrow morning. Snowfall, with local amounts of about 10 cm is expected. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.


Northbound Anthony Henday Drive to Yellowhead Trail

Crews will close the northbound Anthony Henday Drive to eastbound Yellowhead Trail ramp from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night from Monday, April 14 to Wednesday, April 16 to install the third and final span of the new bridge. To access eastbound Yellowhead Trail motorists will: Head north on Anthony Henday Drive and exit onto Yellowhead Trail westbound to 17 Street/116 Avenue.


Hwy 532 closed

Highway 532 from junction Forestry Trunk road to Johnson Creek Bridge remains closed. As the damage visited on this area during the flooding was significant , Alberta Transportation consultants and engineers are continuing to assess the damage. However subject to addressing environmental concerns, safety matters, construction and weather issues we estimate that this route will reopen to the public in July 2014.


Highway 88 Road ban

Alberta Transportation informed Mackenzie County that they are experiencing failures on Hwy 88 between Bear River and 27 km north of Lafond Creek and therefore have placed a 50% road ban on this section of Hwy 88 commencing 8:00am Tues Apr 1/14.


Shaftsbury Ferry Operational Late May

The Shaftsbury Ferry about 60km's south of the Town of Peace River will re-open in late May due to some mechanical repairs.


Highway 734(Forestry Trunk Road) travel not recommended

These is no winter maintenance on Highway 734 from 4.5 Km north of Jct Hwy 591 to 14 Km north of Jct Hwy 591. This section is not officially closed but is not safe to travel in the winter. Travel is not recommended.
